The Role

Our product is a secure communication solution for boardroom collaboration, enabling real-time messaging across platforms. We are initiating a full rewrite of the application from the ground up. While the new version is in development, the existing legacy solution will remain live—requiring active support, bug fixes, and minor feature improvements.

This role will be a key engineering contributor—expected to lead and execute across backend, frontend, and DevOps layers. You will take full ownership of the system’s codebase and operations as a self-sufficient engineer.

What you will do

  • Ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance delivery across services
  • Lead development of the new Boards Messenger application from scratch
  • Maintain, debug, and extend the current production application
  • Independently manage and deliver new features, enhancements, and patches
  • Refactor and modernize existing code while improving developer experience
  • Design, implement, and document backend APIs and microservices
  • Own CI/CD pipeline automation and containerized deployments
  • Work closely with the Tech Lead, Product Owner, and platform teams—but operate largely autonomously

Requirements

    • 6+ years in software engineering with proven backend-heavy fullstack experience
    • Strong expertise in Node.js / TypeScript
    • Experience in CI/CD workflows using Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions
    • Confidence operating as a solo engineer on critical systems
    • Familiarity with microservices architecture, messaging queues, distributed systems
    • Hands-on experience with database technologies (e.g., MariaDB, Redis)

    Preferred / Nice to Have

    • Proficiency in C# / .NET Core 3.1
    • Experience with Fastify or ASP.NET Core frameworks
    • Exposure to message brokers like RabbitMQ, and real-time communication via Socket.io
    • Familiarity with tools like Grafana, Elastic APM, Postman, and Swagger
    • Experience managing K8s deployments with Helm and using Traefik as a reverse proxy
    • Understanding of authentication protocols (JWT, OAuth, Kerberos)
