Scalable foundation supporting years of growth
An entertainment company’s developer platform, was holding itself back. With no centralised developer portal, affiliates seeking integration faced lengthy, painful experiences that deterred partners and stifled ecosystem growth. Deeper technical issues compounded the problem: commerce services lacked centralised API management with inconsistent security and performance bottlenecks, monolithic architecture prevented individual scaling, documentation was scattered and outdated, legacy deployment methods struggled with modern demands, and the absence of standardised telemetry left operations teams troubleshooting blindly. The platform needed a fundamental reimagining.
Zenitech helped them with a transformation of the platform. The centrepiece was an external-facing affiliate portal offering self-service tools, comprehensive documentation, and seamless integration resources. Core commerce services migrated to a centralised API Gateway for single-point control over authentication, authorisation, rate limiting, and routing, while the architecture evolved from tightly coupled synchronous calls to loosely coupled, event-driven design. Remaining services migrated to Kubernetes for modern container orchestration, and standardised telemetry across all services gave operations teams the visibility for proactive monitoring.
The results exceeded expectations. Affiliates who previously spent weeks on integration now completed it in days. Operations teams shifted from reactive firefighting to proactive monitoring, catching issues before customer impact. The Platform now stands on a robust, scalable foundation supporting years of growth, with operational costs down through automation and efficient resource utilisation, it has become a genuine competitive advantage.
