Introduction
Joint ventures are often one of those ideas that sound better on paper than they tend to work in practice. Two companies with different cultures, different priorities, and different definitions of success, asked to build something together. I have seen it go wrong more times than I care to count.
MA Coding is the exception. Not because we got lucky, but because five years of successful delivery have proven a model that most people said could not work at scale. The results are not a promise. They are a proven track record.
Where we came from — and what we set out to prove
MA Coding was founded in 2019 as a 50-50 joint venture between MOL Group, one of Central and Eastern Europe’s largest integrated energy companies, and AutSoft, acquired by Zenitech in 2022. The original premise was straightforward: MOL needed a dedicated, agile IT partner that deeply understood its business. We had the engineering talent, the methodology, and the technical culture to deliver it.
What we chose not to build was a typical outsourcing arrangement. MA Coding is: its own entity, its own team, its own leadership, its own identity and is embedded in MOL’s world; but not constrained by the pace of a large corporation. That structural decision was the first proof point. It is also why, since 2020, we have been delivering at scale without the contractual friction that kills most joint ventures before they find their stride.
What five years of delivery actually looks like
I am deliberately not listing every project. What matters is the pattern — the kind of problems we have been trusted to solve, and what happened as a result.
Automating field operations at scale
Field teams logging and tracking work across fragmented, paper-heavy processes; we transformed that into a seamlessly integrated mobile experience: offline-capability in remote environments, automatically synchronised, feeding directly into enterprise resource management. The result was better decision-making data for managers, less administrative burden for workers, and a genuinely different operating rhythm for the teams that use it. That system is now embedded across MOL’s operations. It did not exist before MA Coding built it.
Multi-country operational intelligence
We have built and continue to evolve large-scale operational management platforms deployed across multiple countries and production sites; covering everything from inventory and quality control to compliance and role-based access for complex, multinational teams. Getting this right does not just require technical depth. It requires organisational empathy: understanding how different teams in different countries actually work, and building software that respects that complexity rather than flattening it. Our track record here is measured in years of uptime, not just launch dates.
A generational upgrade to customer-facing platforms
We are currently leading the end-to-end modernisation of a major customer self-service platform: rebuilt for web, iOS, and Android, with full multilingual support, single sign-on, and modern UX patterns serving thousands of corporate clients across the region. This is not maintenance. It is the kind of work that only gets trusted to a team with a proven delivery history, which is exactly why it came to us.
Making data mean something
Across multiple engagements, we have moved organisations from operational noise to actionable business intelligence; integrating data from multiple systems, surfacing it in dashboards that business units actually use, and enabling faster, more confident decisions. This is where the Zenitech engineering DNA meets the depth of MOL domain knowledge. It is also where the value of five continuous years of context becomes impossible to replicate.
The joint venture model, when it is built on the right foundation, creates something neither partner could build alone. Five years later, that foundation has a name: a proven track record of success. |
Why this model is hard to copy
I have thought carefully about why MA Coding has succeeded where similar ventures struggle. A few things stand out, and none of them are accidental.
Full-stack technical depth. Our team covers the complete delivery stack: .NET, Angular, MAUI, Blazor, Azure, Oracle, SAP integration, QA and test automation, mobile development, and data engineering. We are not generalists claiming to specialise. We are specialists who also understand the business context, a distinction that shows in every delivery.
Speed without quality compromise. MOL’s business does not wait. When a production system needs an update, a new regulatory requirement lands, or a business unit needs a new capability, we respond. Five years of operating at that pace, without sacrificing quality, is the proof.
Trust earned through delivery, not through contracts. Since 2020 we have been executing MOL Group business requests at scale. That track record is why we now get pulled into the harder, more strategic problems, not just maintenance cycles. Trust, in our context, is a deliverable.
Looking ahead
The energy sector is digitalising faster than most people outside it realise. As MOL Group continues its transformation; expanding its renewables business, modernising its retail operations, evolving its logistics infrastructure; the demand for intelligent, integrated software will only grow. MA Coding is positioning itself at the centre of that transformation.
We are investing in AI-assisted development, deepening our Azure cloud capabilities, and expanding our expertise in the kinds of complex, multi-country systems that define MOL’s operational scale. The foundation is not ambition. It is five years of work that speaks for itself.
“We are not a vendor. We are a technology partner with shared skin in the game — and five years of delivery to prove it.” |
