The Role
Join Zenitech as a Senior Business Analyst, contributing your skills to high-impact projects within a collaborative, multicultural team.
You’ll play a key role in understanding and defining the needs for a waterway monitoring system, a web-based platform providing crucial hydrographic and hydrological data, that offers support for waterway administrations in planning maintenance and rehabilitation measures.
What you will do
- Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and validate business and technical requirements
- Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and process flows
- Act as a liaison between business units and development teams throughout the software development lifecycle (Scrum, Waterfall)
- Participate in and facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions with business and IT stakeholders
- Support product owners in managing and prioritizing backlogs and in defining acceptance criteria
- Analyze and map current (“as-is”) and future (“to-be”) business processes and systems
- Work with QA teams to support test planning, test case design, and validation activities
- Contribute to the planning and execution of UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
Identify risks, dependencies, and gaps early, proposing mitigation or solutions proactively - Mentor and support junior BAs and contribute to best practice sharing within the BA community
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in an IT/software development environment
- Strong knowledge of business analysis techniques, tools, and frameworks (e.g., BPMN, UML, user stories, use cases, process mapping)
- Experience with Agile (Scrum, SAFe) and/or Waterfall methodologies
- Proficient in requirements management and documentation tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Enterprise Architect)
- Excellent communication skills in Hungarian and English (written and spoken); ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail
- Experience in working with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
- Ability to be present onsite for meetings and workshops (Budapest, Wien)
