About the role

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in Budapest, Hungary. In this role, you will work closely with the local team to support daily operations while also partnering with global teams across the UK, Romania, and Lithuania.

Our team is working with AccountsIQ, but don’t worry if you haven’t heard about it – we will get you up to speed.

Reporting into the HU Finance Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to collaborate internationally, while also supporting colleagues within the local Finance team. If you have wide experience in accounting and are looking to make a significant impact, we’d love to hear from you!

What you will do

  • Collaborate with the local and the wider, international finance team on using the new accounting system (for internal management reporting purposes only – local statutory reporting and tax is handled by external accountants)

  • Entering purchase invoices, sales invoices, bank transactions, fixed assets and different general ledger journals

  • Process bank payments and bank reconciliations

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations

  • Participate in period-end closing procedures

  • Assist with annual statutory financial audit

  • Participate in project-related accounting including cost allocation

  • Prepare standard and ad hoc reports

  • Prepare P&L report

  • Manage the fixed asset register

  • Manage prepayments & accruals

Requirements

  • Accounting knowledge and 1-3 years of experience in accounting

  • Experience using accounting software and tools

  • Strong detail-oriented mindset, reasoning and decision making

  • Smooth collaboration skills, willingness to support others, can-do attitude

  • Quick adaptability and willingness to learn more about accounting aspects from colleagues in other countries

  • Ability to prioritise and complete tasks on deadlines

  • Hungarian and English language skills

  • Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting or Chartered Accountant qualification
