About the role

The Accounting Team is seeking a motivated and proactive Senior Financial Accountant to manage financial activities within our Lithuanian department. You will be joining a team of three finance specialists in Lithuania, so we are hoping that you are keen on mentoring and working in collaboration.

In this role, you will oversee daily local operations in Lithuania and support global projects within the Finance team. As our company continues to grow and enhance our Finance function, we are looking for an individual eager to contribute to the development of global processes and best practices.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the Finance function in Lithuania, providing strategic oversight, leadership and guidance to the Finance team
  • Be a Business Partner to the local leadership team in Lithuania, including providing management information, strategic support and ad hoc analysis on commercial and finance matters such as salary planning, reviews, and bonuses, as required
  • Own the budgeting and forecasting processes for the Lithuanian offices, adhering to Group Finance policies
  • Assist in the preparation of Group budgets and forecasts, and post-budget/forecast data to the ERP system
  • Coordinate bookkeeping, VAT reporting, and support the payroll function
  • Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner
  • Perform financial accounts reconciliation and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintain prepayment and accrual schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare and process month-end closing journals, ensuring all financial data is up-to-date
  • Generate various reports as requested by the Head Office in London, adhering to Group month-end deadlines
  • Prepare the monthly cash flow statement and annual financial statements, including draft disclosures
  • Be responsible for the annual statutory audit in Lithuania, addressing audit and due diligence queries and liaising with external auditors as needed
  • Support project managers with client billing in cases where systems are not fully automated
  • Manage the statutory audit process for the Lithuanian office, ensuring compliance with all local regulations
  • Evaluate the implications of new accounting standards and integrate necessary changes
  • Support the implementation of and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard company assets
  • Assist in finalising the implementation and maintenance of the new Accounts IQ accounting system
  • Serve as the liaison with local external accountants on audit and compliance matters, ensuring all requirements are met

Skills and qualities we appreciate:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Financial Accounting or similar role
  • Strong leadership skills and experience leading a small team
  • Experience in bookkeeping and payroll, with strong knowledge of the Lithuanian Finance environment and accounting rules, and AR/AP/GL processes
  • Proficiency in generating various reports, preparing budgets, and forecasting
  • Audit experience, demonstrating a solid understanding of audit procedures and requirements
  • Experience in system migration and familiarity with Accounts IQ is an advantage
  • Proactive and results-oriented attitude with a commitment to excellence
  • Patient and adaptable in dynamic and changing conditions
  • Self-driven and ready to initiate and embrace change
  • Strong teamwork and cooperation skills within a cross-cultural team
  • Proficiency in Lithuanian and English (at least B2/C1 level) languages

The compensation is up to 65 000 euros gross / year based on your expectations and experience.
